Growing Leaders

The Co-op Growing Leaders Program is a partnership between 4-H Alberta, Federated Co-operatives Limited and 13 local Alberta Co-op's (see listed below). This program was started in 2022 in an effort to encourage more members to join the 4-H program after experiencing decreasing club numbers post COVID.

The Co-op Growing Leaders Program funds new member registration fees for first-year members (to a maximum of $200) and up to 50% (to a maximum of $100) for second-year returning Co-op Growing Leader Member applicants. Since the programs launch in 2022, the Co-op Growing Leader Program has sponsored 209 new member and continues to gain momentum each year!

How we have been growing our impact

2021-2022 — Cornerstone Co-op participated and sponsored 73 new members in the program.

2022-2023 — Seven Co-ops (Arrowwood, Central Alberta, Cornerstone, New Horizon, Pembina West, Pincher Creek and Westview) participated and sponsored a total of 209 new kids in the program.

2023-2024 — We have now grown to THIRTEEN Co-ops participating — Arrowwood, Central Alberta, Cornerstone, Irma, Lloydminster and District, North Central, North Corridor, Pembina West, Pincher Creek, South Country, Westview and Wild Rose and we are hoping to sponsor over 300 new members in the program!

In total we have been able to support 282 new kids in the program and are hoping to add another 300 new members to that number this year.
